Project details

Oakwell House transforms an existing office building into a contemporary headquarters for South Yorkshire Pensions Authority. Designed to support new ways of working, the project creates a flexible workplace that improves collaboration, enhances staff wellbeing and provides an environment that reflects the organisation's future ambitions.

Oakwell House was redeveloped to provide a new headquarters for South Yorkshire Pensions Authority, bringing staff together within a workplace designed around flexibility, collaboration and wellbeing. The project responded to changing workplace expectations following the pandemic, creating an environment that supports both focused individual work and greater interaction between teams.

The refurbishment transforms a previously open-plan office into a series of well-defined work settings, including collaborative spaces, informal breakout areas, meeting rooms and dedicated focus zones. The design introduces a clear workplace strategy that improves the way people move through the building while creating a welcoming environment for staff and visitors alike.

The result is a modern workplace that supports organisational change, improves the everyday working experience and provides a flexible environment capable of adapting to future business needs.

Key Deliverables

  1. 01

    Commercial Value

The redevelopment makes better use of an existing office building, creating a flexible headquarters that supports long-term organisational efficiency. Adaptable workspaces allow the building to respond to changing operational needs while reducing the requirement for future alterations. The investment also provides a modern workplace that helps attract and retain staff while supporting more effective ways of working.

  2. 02

    Social Impact

Oakwell House creates a workplace that places people at the centre of the design. Flexible work settings, collaborative spaces and improved staff facilities encourage interaction, support wellbeing and provide greater choice over how people work throughout the day. By responding to evolving workplace expectations, the project creates an environment that promotes productivity, inclusivity and a stronger workplace culture.
