New Addington Leisure Centre is a landmark community facility that has transformed the heart of Central Parade. Designed to replace outdated leisure provision, the centre brings together modern sport, fitness and community facilities within a welcoming and inclusive environment that supports healthier lifestyles while acting as a catalyst for wider regeneration across New Addington.
Delivered for the London Borough of Croydon, New Addington Leisure Centre was conceived as a new civic destination that places health, wellbeing and community at the centre of everyday life. The building provides a contemporary, highly accessible environment that encourages participation across all ages and abilities while supporting the long-term regeneration of the surrounding area.
The facility includes a six-lane, 25-metre swimming pool, teaching pool, four-court sports hall, fitness suite, two flexible activity studios and substantial community accommodation capable of hosting events for up to 300 people. A café and generous social spaces create opportunities for visitors to connect beyond physical activity, helping the building become a true community hub.
Designed with inclusivity at its core, the project incorporates accessible changing facilities, dedicated wheelchair sports storage and flexible community spaces that respond to the needs of local residents. The development was recognised with the RICS London Social Impact Award, celebrating its contribution to improving health, wellbeing and social value within the community.

Designed to encourage participation from the whole community, the centre provides inclusive, accessible spaces that support healthier lifestyles and stronger social connections. The project created more than 75 local jobs during construction and was recognised with the RICS Social Impact Award for its positive contribution to the local community, reflecting its role as both a leisure destination and an important civic hub.
