We’re proud to celebrate the completion of the Highlight Active Wellbeing Hub, a landmark project that brings together leisure, health and community services in one modern, inclusive destination for Hartlepool.

Delivered for Hartlepool Borough Council, the new facility replaces the former Mill House Leisure Centre and has been designed to support healthier lifestyles while creating a welcoming environment for people of all ages and abilities. More than just a leisure centre, the hub reflects a growing ambition to integrate physical activity, healthcare and community spaces under one roof, making wellbeing more accessible for everyone.

The state-of-the-art facility includes an eight-lane community standard swimming pool, learner pool, leisure pool, a modern fitness suite, flexible studios, children’s soft play, NHS consultation rooms, a café and a range of welcoming community spaces. Together, these facilities create a destination that supports everyday activity, social connection and long-term health.

Located at Hartlepool Marina, the Highlight Active Wellbeing Hub also plays a significant role in the wider regeneration of the waterfront. As a prominent new public building, it helps strengthen the marina as a destination for residents and visitors while contributing to the town’s long-term investment in health, wellbeing and placemaking.

The project has been delivered through close collaboration between Hartlepool Borough Council and the wider consultant and contractor team, with a shared commitment to creating a facility that will serve the community for generations.
