A major milestone has been reached in the development of the new Atherstone Leisure Centre, with demolition now underway at the former leisure centre and Memorial Hall.

The works mark an important step forward for the project, preparing the site for the next phase in delivering a modern, inclusive and community-focused leisure destination for Atherstone and the wider North Warwickshire community.

The new centre will bring together swimming, fitness, studio and community spaces alongside a café, splash pad and Changing Places facility, creating a welcoming and accessible environment that supports healthier, more active lifestyles.

Designed with the needs of the local community at its heart, the new leisure centre will provide opportunities for people of different ages and abilities to get active, connect with others and make use of high-quality facilities close to home.

The start of demolition follows significant work by North Warwickshire Borough Council and the wider project team to progress plans for the new facility.
