Joe Hollis
Project Interior Architectural DesignerJoe recently relocated to the North East from London, to move in with his partner and their dog, Pig. Despite having been up on countless occasions to visit, Joe is still very new to the area and is very much enjoying exploring all Newcastle has to offer (and particularly around their home on the coast).
Joe graduated from the University of Nottingham back in 2015 with a BArch in Architecture and continued to complete his Part 1 in practice before deciding to move away from Architecture. A couple of years later (having done some valuable and necessary years out in a few service industry jobs), Joe began working back in the world of the Built Environment, this time within interiors which was a much better fit for him and his skillset. Joe has since rapidly built a portfolio of experience across workplace, leisure, hospitality, and residential sectors which has given him a good understanding of how to alter his approach when designing spaces for a variety of end users.
Outside of work, Joe loves anything related to food and drink – he loves to cook, but also to explore new places to eat (and drink)! Joe spends most of his spare time with his family and friends chatting about everything and nothing at all, playing/watching tennis, and helping his boyfriend create drag costumes in his Ouseburn studio.
Specialisms: Joe is particularly interested in developing and enhancing the functionality of a space, working together with a client to deliver exactly what they want but more so what they need. Working with people is a particular strength of his.
Personal Ambition: "My personal ambition is to one day buy and renovate a house on the Northumberland coast, and of course to rescue more dogs!"
