Our Director and Sports and Leisure lead Paul Reed went on a study visit to research US University & College Sporting facilities, tying up his trip to visit our alliance partners at Sasaki. Over at Boston, we were able to further our learning on facility designs moving forward with the key highlights being:
- Sports facilities in the US stand out for their impressive size and inclusion of dedicated arenas and stadiums with seating
- The designs underscores the value placed on community and spectatorship, creating spaces where people can gather, celebrate, and enjoy sports together
- Athletes benefit from dedicated training facilities, ensuring they receive support necessary for their development. This approach emphasises the value of recognising and nurturing talents as well as the requirements within the educational and sporting environment
