Shaping a 1980s facility for the future.
Slough Ice Arena was originally constructed in the mid 1980’s as the home of the Slough Jets ice hockey team. With a spectator capacity of 1000 people, the building provided ice skating facilities for the local community, changing facilities, a small diner and an amusement arcade. The project was commissioned to contribute towards the Slough Joint Wellbeing Strategy with an aim to enhance the health and wellbeing of the residents in the area.
Slough Ice Arena was home to ITV’s Dancing on Ice contestants in 2019 and is also used by SPICE who teach children and young adults with additional needs to ice skate in a calm and caring environment.
