We were delighted to learn that both Standish Community Hub in Wigan and Dover District Leisure Centre in Kent have been shortlisted for regional awards.
Standish Community Hub is a small, but perfectly formed dry leisure and community centre given to the residents of a new housing development in Wigan. The project met the needs of the Developer’s Section 106 contribution and offers essential facilities to local residents to help them to come together and to be more active. It has been shortlisted in the LABC awards, North West Region, for Best Public Service or Educational Building and Best Large Commercial Project.
Dover District Leisure Centre has been shortlisted in the Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce awards for Best Construction project. The centre opened in 2019 and has had a significant positive impact on the local community and sustainability agenda.
We’re looking forward to attending the ceremonies and wish all of the shortlisted compares good luck!
