The Hart Leisure Centre is a new flagship building which has been designed to sit comfortably within a park setting. Like the Morden project, landscape forms an important component to the success of the wider scheme. The project also demonstrates best practice and has already been highlighted as an exemplar project in a Sport England case study based on the layout and latest technologies promoted within the centre. Features include a modern reception and coffee shop, an eight-metre high climbing wall, 3 dance studios, 8 court sports hall, a crèche and a fitness gym. There is also going to be a 20m x 8.5m teaching pool with a fun and therapy element, a training tank for the more serious swimmers and a 25m 8 lane competition size pool, complete with spectator seating. The scheme also includes 5 external 3G pitches and 4 full size grass pitches with associated external changing room facilities – all of which comply with Sport England and FA regulations.
