+3 Architecture are celebrating after their Green Incubator building in South Tyneside won the prestigious BREEAM award for the most sustainable office building in the UK. Presented at Eco Build in London, the awards recognise the extraordinary achievements of thirteen new buildings and include some of the highest ever scoring buildings certified under the BREEAM scheme for assessing sustainability.

The Green Incubator building scored an extraordinary 87.7% in the design stage assessment and will be one of only a handful of buildings in the UK to achieve a BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ rating. Credit must go to the entire design, client and construction team for their commitment to delivering this innovative piece of contemporary architecture.

At the heart of this scheme is the importance of delivering a truly green building, in recognition of the fact that promoting green technology can only be successful if the building that people are working in is sustainable. BREEAM and sustainability have been first and foremost in design considerations and have driven the resulting architectural solution.
