GT3 Architects have a long-standing interest in housing having worked on a number of innovative housing projects both as masterplanners and architects and on occasions in collaboration with other architects. We have consciously eschewed the volume housing market which we believe exerts disproportionate control on housing demand and supply and whose standard designs do not always meet the real needs of occupiers. Instead, we have sought out housing providers who understand local market conditions and believe in creating sustainable communities where the quality of the place directly influences the quality of life.

This means taking time to appreciate the local and wider context, listening to the local community, working collaboratively with other stakeholders, having a sound business case and employing designers who appreciate that success means designing not just for visual and aesthetic impact, but also for physical, environmental, social and psychological wellbeing – creating sustainable neighbourhoods and communities as well as award-winning houses.
